LOST: The Beginning of the End

Originally posted: Feb 8, 2008

Lost, season four season premiere.. Where do I even begin? Loved it. I freakin' loved it. I don't know how I am going to make it to next Thursday. I have a million more questions, a million more ideas and I am just as confused as ever. I love it!

First of all, any Hurley centric episode makes me happy. It took me a minute to figure out who Jack was watching in the high-speed chase, but I soon as I realized what car it was, I knew it was Hurley. I can't wait till we start learning more about the future. What could have happened for Hurley to be so messed up now? It was crazy to see future Jack doing so well, when we know how downhill things eventually go for him. Here's my big question – if Hurley already wants to go back to the island, why did Jack call Kate and tell her they need to go back? Why didn't he just go to Hurley? I think that means Hurley dies or something and that freaks me out.

Obviously, some pretty bad stuff went down before they got off the island. Why didn't everyone get off? Why did the Oceanic Six not tell anyone there were any other survivors (that's what I assume)? That creepy guy who came to visit Hurley had to have been asking about the ones left on the island. Charlie's visit to Hurley (which I totally loved, I don't know what it means since he's dead and all, but it was so good to see him and he's a much happier, more together version of Charlie and he's still got mad love for Hurley) was to tell him "they" need him. That crazy island did something and wants them back on it. I can't wait to know why!

Highlights for me were Hurley finding crazy Locke in Jacob's cabin (how freaky was that whole scene?!), Jack's face when Ben told him Kate took the phone (ha ha ha Jack's dumb), Hurley's speech, the whole group coming back together (I always love how happy people get when they are reunited) and when Hurley told Claire about Charlie (even though it broke my heard and I cried). How sweet was it when Sawyer (my boyfriend) tried to be there for Hurley and talk to him about Charlie?

Lowlights were Jack shooting at Locke ( I know he didn't kill him, but he wanted to), Hurley apologizing for going with Locke (again, what the hell happened?!!), and the cop guy (who was Tony Miller on 90210 and totally took Brenda to senior prom, by the way) asking Hurley about AnaLouhoa – who cares about that dumb bitch?!

Amanda and I noticed that Jack's dad Christian was sitting in Jacob's chair. Several websites and pics that I've looked up today have confirmed that. What does that mean? Is Christian Jacob? I think that's completely possible. We already know he's connected to Jack, Claire, Sawyer and Ana Louhoa. He could have countless other connections to the castaways. In "Expose" from season 3 (the Nikki and Paolo episode), Hurley says (after reading the script for Nikki's tv show), "La Cobra is the big bad guy. His identity has been shrouded in mystery for four seasons." So one of my new theories is that someone we already know, but don't know very well, is the main bad guy behind everything – from the plane crash to the flash forwards… I mean to it all. It has to be someone who's been around for all four seasons and I think whoever it is will be revealed this season. I also think Ben and the ones on his side who were originally Hostiles are dead. I think Walt's dead too, but that 's just me.

I know that I just said yesterday that I was not going to read spoilers because I want to be surprised this season. Well I read months ago who the Oceanic Six are. If you don't want to know, then DON'T READ THIS – Kate, Jack, Hurley, Sayid, Jin and Sun. This ruins my whole Kate and Sawyer end up together theory, but it holds true to my Michael is in the casket theory. I think Michael did successfully get off the island and maybe he has something to do with the "rescue." (I put it this way b/c apparently things don't go too well for the ones who get off the island.) I've also read a few other things that I won't mention here, but oh man, they get me excited about the rest of the season… if you can call 8 episodes a season – damn writers strike! OK, YOU CAN READ AGAIN. I am so pumped about the new season. I hope the rest of it is as exciting as last night's was. I am sure I left out about a hundred things, but leave me comments and we'll theorize. I love Lost!
