Well, Lost was actually good tonight, so I'll give the old blog another shot. I read what happened in the tonight's episode before I watched. The episode was shown last week in LA and the synopsis was posted on a website. And I have been so disappointed by this season that I've been reading spoilers. I know it makes me a bad Lost fan, but that is what disappointment has done to me. (I've also read four pages of the finale script. Oops!) That being said, the episode turned out much better than I thought it would.
Island world had a lot of stuff going on. I'm very bummed that Richard Alpert is dead. I assume he didn't survive Flocke's smokey attack. Ben's dumb ass is proving himself to the bad guy that I have always thought he was. I hope when he tries to murder the remaining Losties, he gets killed instead. I've hated Ben from day one. It was pretty cool when Flocke took out Tina Fey wannabe. I really enjoyed the question and answer scene the gang had with Jacob. I'm also glad Jack is the one to take over Jacob's job. It's a nice turn to see the island's resident man of science become the new man of faith. Plus I didn't want Hurley or Sawyer to be stuck on the island and I am still hoping Kate gets murdered. I wonder where the heck Desmond has run off to. As long as he is ok, I guess that is all that matters.
I actually really liked the Sideways timeline tonight too. That could have been because I got to see Des beat up Ben once again (putting his arm back in a sling, just like before the Ajira flight 316) or because I got to see my beloved Rousseau again. A nice, normal well adjusted Danielle Rousseau at that! I teared up when Locke went to visit Jack and told him he would let Jack do the surgery on him. Sideways Locke has found original Locke's faith. I love it! My favorite part of the episode was the jail breakout! How perfect was it that Hurley and Desmond (with Ana Louhoa's help) got Sayid and Kate free?! Also it looke like all Hurley's island memories have come back. He recognized Ana Louhoa. So it seems everyone will be meeting up at the concert next week. Desmond is going to save the day!!
I can't believe this whole crazy show will be over in less than a week. I'm excited and sad all at the same time. I just hope the ending doesn't disappoint me too much. I'm sure I left out a million important things, so what were your favorite moments of tonight's Lost?
P.S. Yesenia, Rachel and I are going to be in a Lost trivia contest Saturday afternoon. We can have up to 6 team members. It costs $5 to play. Anyone interested??

LOST: Across the Sea
WTH? Seriously... WTH? I should be more enlightened, but I am only more confused. Can someone please explain tonight's Lost to me? The island is there to protect the sparkly light? The light causes the electromagnetic pulses? How is Man in Black walking around and talking to Jacob later if his skeleton is chilling in the cave? Who finished the frozen donkey wheel, since MiB was killed and all his people we killed too? Where did the twins' psycho "mom" come from?
I am glad we found out who Adam and Eve are. I'm bummed that it's not Rose and Bernard or any other set of Losties. That theory about Jacob and MiB being brothers turned out to be true. Man in Black still doesn't have a name. No wonder he gets pissed off and turns into the Smoke Monster! So did MiB become Smokey because Jacob threw him in the water? I have no clue what it is going on with this show and I am done trying to figure it out.
The more I think about tonight's episode the more frustrated I get. There are so many Lost questions that are never going to be answered. I've been a loyal viewer for 5 years and I feel like I'm getting screwed. The writers have been stringing us along all this time. Every episode creates more questions. I'm too mad to even write any more. I probably won't blog for next week's episode or for the finale. What would be the point? Lost is never going to give me what I want. I am ready for Lost to end, but I know that come May 24th, I'll still be heartbroken.

LOST: The Candidate
OH MY GOD!! I still can't catch my breath from crying so hard tonight. I should have realized I was going to be in trouble when I was crying within the first three minutes of Lost. I know I was begging for a body count, but talk about "be careful what you wish for." This is not what I meant. I wanted Ben and Kate to be taken out.. Maybe even Claire (you know, she's just not that same since she went all Rousseau crazy on us). I didn't think Sun, Jin, Sayid and Lapidus were all going to be taken out at once! AAHHH!! Deep breath, Amanda.. Okay, I think I can go on now.
I loved all the Jack and Locke interaction in the Sideways world. When Helen ran into John's room and kissed him and then hugged Jack too, I started crying. I'm a sucker for Helen and John! This episode had some major Oceanic passenger run-ins. YAY, Bernard! I loved it when he said Jack was flirting with Rose on the plane. Ha ha ha I'm glad we got to find out how Locke ended up in the wheelchair in this timeline. He just can't escape those damn plane crashes. The island world bleeds over into the sideways world, even in Locke's dreams.. "Push the button." "I wish you had believed me." Christian's music box gift to Claire looked just like Rousseau's music box that Rousseau had Sayid repair in season 1. It also played, "Catch a Falling Star." The song that both Claire and Kate have sung to baby Aaron. (It was even the song that played on the airplane mobile the Others had above the crib in Aaron's room in the medical hatch.) When Jack told Claire she could stay with him because they are family, I teared up again. It bummed me out that Locke wouldn't let Jack fix him because Locke felt guilty for injuring his father. I know Anthony Cooper was all sad and pathetic in the nursing home, but I was kind of like, yeah, that's what that kidney stealing con man gets! Did you see Jin pass by in the hospital hallway? Good to know the Kwons are still alive in this timeline. It was also good to see that sideways Jack is learning to let things go. I loved when Jack repeated Locke's words to him, "I wish you had believed me."
So my little sideways tears were nothing compared to my island tears. I still cannot believe that Sun and Jin are dead. At least they died together. It really sucks that we waited all that time for them to be reunited just so to watch them die. One of the cool things about this final season is that a lot of the scenes echo scenes from earlier seasons. Sawyer and Kate got locked up in the bear cages again, but this time with more company. The gang was all back together for another shoot out. Looks like being reunited with the castaways brought some good back to zombie Sayid. I loved when Kate got shot. I was like "Bam! Bitch went down!" Of course, Jack is going to try to save her. He even pulled her from the sinking sub. I did not see the Flocke double cross coming. I was thinking the gang was going to get away for good and that Sawyer had gotten Flocke by pushing him in the water and closing the submarine without him. Then Jack found Flocke's bomb in his backpack. NOOOOO!!!!! I do think Jack was totally right though. If they would have just let the timer countdown on the bomb, it would not have gone off. Flocke cannot kill the candidates. He has to get them to kill each other in some other way. The bomb only went off because Sawyer messed with it. (I can't be mad at him though because he's my love. Even though he did kill four of my favorite Losties.) Ninja Sayid proved that ninjas can die when he took one for the team and ran off with the bomb. When he started telling Jack that Desmond was in the bottom of the well, my hyperventilating crying began. So I was already torn up because Sayid was gone, then Frank "We're not going to Guam, are we?" Lapidus got hit on the head and taken out by the rushing water. More tears.. I loved Lapidus! Once I saw trapped Sun, I knew it was all over. I knew Jin wouldn't leave her and I knew we were going to lose them. I can't even describe how loudly I was sobbing. I think David didn't know what to do with me. I am still devastated. I thought about watching Lost again before I blogged, but I just couldn't handle crying like that again. The worst part was when everything went all slow motion and you could see their hands slipping apart in the water.. AAHHH... Poor Ji Yeon. I was attempting to calm myself down, but then Jack told Hurley that Sun and Jin didn't make it. Hurley lost it, Jack lost it and I lost it again. Even though I'm heartbroken, I really liked this episode. We got lots of action. Things are all lining up for the big finale. I think I'll be done with hour long dramas when Lost ends though. I can't handle being this upset over a tv show.
I was wrong in my last blog that this week would be the Jacob/Man in Black Lost. Next week's episode will be that one. It's called Across the Sea. I've heard Allison Janey is going to be in it. LOVE HER! I also read that there will be no more promos for the upcoming episodes. The finale has also been upped to 2-1/2 hours, instead of just two. That means we have 4-1/2 hours of Lost left. Uh-oh, time for me to cry again....

LOST: The Last Recruit
I know that this episode was a set up episode, a way to get our castaways in position for what is to come next. Because of this, I won't be too harsh on it. But I was kind of bored. There were a few amazing moments though, so I guess it all balances out.
"The Last Recruit" had a few OMG! moments. I love that Claire knows she and Jack are brother and sister. It was sweet when she told him it was nice to have family now. I was thrilled that Sun and Jin were FINALLY reunited. I started hyperventilating crying. Such a great moment! How cool was it that her English came back as soon as they hugged? Now that Sun has Jin again, she is complete. Another great scene was when Jack recognized Locke in the mirror in the OR. Could this be the moment he starts remembering his island self? I'm pretty excited that Jack has the chance to fix Locke now. I really enjoyed Flocke and Jack's chat at the beginning of the episode. It was very reminiscent of past Locke and Jack arguing about the island scenes. Flocke admitted to showing himself as Christian and said he did so to help Jack find water. Does this make him a good guy? He seems like he just really wanted to help Jack way back when. I've always thought the Smoke Monster could pose as dead people. Now I wonder though if he also showed up as Christian to Jack when he was off the island. Was it also Smokey as Christian on the freighter right before Michael died? I kind of feel like the writers are going to leave this as the only explanation for dead people randomly showing up because they are running out of time to explain it all. It made me sad when Flocke once again said he picked Locke because he was easily convinced that the island was special. Poor John.
In the sideways world, every one is starting to cross each other's past. I guess Sawyer and Kate aren't each other's constants. They didn't have a flash of memory when they saw each other. Then again, they didn't touch. So maybe the memories only come once they touch their constant. I really thought Sayid was going to get away and was disappointed in our ninja warrior when Sawyer took him down so easily. (Everyone can call Saywer, "James" and "Jim" to their hearts' content, but he will always be Sawyer to me!)Desmond was creepy following Claire around. Can't believe she didn't freak out on him. It was so not cool that Ilana was back too. I was really annoyed when Jack did not say his ex's name when he was on the phone with her. I have to know who is baby mama is!! Why the heck was Sun tripping out when she saw John on the stretcher next to her? Is she remembering the island and what a bad dude Flocke is? Help me with theories on this gang, because I've got nothing.
On the island, everyone has definitely chosen their sides. I did not appreciate Sun and Jin's reunion being interrupted by lil' Miss Tina Fey wannabe and her folks with big guns. Why does Widmore want these guys dead now? I'm so freakin' confused. I loved when Jack jumped off the boat. If he is staying on the island because the island is not done with him, does that mean Flocke is the good guy? Because he still has things for Jack to do? Or is Jack staying because it is his job to take down Flocke and save the day? "We're DONE going back, Kate!" - best line of the night. Good for you, Sawyer. I really thought crazy Claire was going to take Kate out. I sure hope someone kills Kate off soon. I don't think Sayid shot Desmond. At least I really really really hope he didn't. I adore Des. The very last scene with the bomb going off was crazy. Is Jack going to be ok? Flocke grabbed him and carried him off like Forrest grabbing up Bubba. When Flocke told Jack, "You're with me now," does that mean Jack is now claimed? Looks like Jack was the last recruit.
I've read online that someone is going to die and that fans are going to pretty upset about it. I am avoiding spoilers (for the most part), so I don't know who it will be. What is every one's guesses? No new Lost next week. I heard "Ab Aterno" will be replayed. This is so the show won't have to repeat again before the series finale. I've heard the next episode will be Jacob and Man in Black centric. I bet we'll get lots of answers!!

LOST: Everyone Loves Hugo
"Kind of makes you think, doesn't it? Ilana. No sooner does she tell you who you are then she blows up. The island was done with her. Makes me wonder what is going to happen when it's done with us." Excellent point, Ben. Excellent episode. We got answers. We got Libby and Hurley's picnic. Love them! Oh and we got explosions! And death! Woo hoo!
I am much happier with the sideways timeline now that we know what it is. I loved that Pierre Chang (Miles' dad) narrated Hurley's award tribute. This was a cool nod to his Dharma orientation videos. I want Hurley's really cool T-Rex shaped award! Even though I knew Libby would be back in this episode, I was so excited to see her! When she and Hurley met up in the restaurant, I totally started crying, especially when Dr. Brooks came to get her. I loved that their sideways storyline mirrored their island one, where Libby helped Hurley when he thought he was crazy. This time he believes in her when she seems crazy. In this timeline Des is going to work by helping reconnect people. Thanks to his encouragement, Hurley decides to go see Libby. It was cool to see Hurley back at Santa Rosa without being a patient. Did you notice the island drawing on the chalkboard in the rec room? Creepy! When they were talking in the mental hospital, I kept yelling at Libby to touch Hurley (I was sure they could hear me) because that had to be the key to helping him remember. So Libby and Hurley finally got to have their picnic. Once Libby kissed him, Hurley remembered knowing her before. Of course, I teared up again. I love these two together. See everyone really does love Hugo!
Back on the island, things got even more interesting. "God help us if that thing ever leaves the island, because if it do.." BOOM! Bye bye stupid Ilana. I'm glad Jack didn't get a little Ilana on him.. like he got some Arnzt! Ha ha Michael's ghost appeared to tell Hurley that they shouldn't blow up the plane. So what's Hurley's new plan? Uh-oh, it's to pull a Locke by blowing up the Black Rock just like Locke blew up the submarine in season 3. So the group split into Team Hurley and Team Richard. I really liked the scene when Hurley confessed to Jack that he wasn't getting directions from Jacob. I liked it because Jack realized and admitted he had to let things go. He can't fix everything. I can proudly say I no longer think of Jack as a huge jerk (I've always been Team Locke, so me and Jack have had some serious issues.)
A few highlights from island time - I did not like the way Sayid ignored Sawyer and went straight to Flocke. I know the Sayid I loved is gone, but I still can't accept it. Sun's face when she didn't find Jin with Team Flocke was pretty sad. I knew Flocke was going to push Desmond down that damn well. Why didn't Des know it too?! What the hell is up with kiddo in the woods? It appears to be the same actor from the last time a kid showed up, but that kid was blonde and bloody. (Just checked IMDB.com and it's the same actor.) This kid had dark hair. Who the heck is he??!! Old Smokey's smile when he saw Jack was just plain creepy! He must be excited because he thinks his plan is falling all into place.
Finally dumbass Michael apologized for killing Libby. (I still give him props for taking out Ana Louhoa though.) The Whispers come from dead people who are trapped on the island. These spirits cannot move on because of the bad things they did in life. Does this mean every ghost Hurley sees is bad? If that's the case, then doesn't that make Jacob bad? Or is it just the ones who make the whispering noises before they appear? Can the whispering ghosts only show up on the island? He sees Mr.Eko and Charlie both off island. The Whispers have appeared before Walt before but as far as we've seen Walt isn't dead. I'm kind of confused about this whole thing. I think the show just wanted to give an answer for the Whispers and we're just supposed to accept it. But the Whispers appeared before Ben saw his mom when he was a little kid. Does that mean mom was a baddie too? I guess I'll just assume that was Old Smokey using Emily Linus' body to recruit Ben over to Team Other. Just like Old Smokey showed up as Yemi to Eko.
I think I figured out how Desmond is going to fix Flocke. Flocke has shown traces of John Locke already. This has to be original Locke bleeding over into Fake Locke. I think Des is going to talk to Flocke and somehow get Locke to come out in him. Locke's goodness will override Flocke's evilness. Desmond hit sideways John with his car so that John can have a near death experience and remember his island self. Hopefully when John starts to remember, he can start to overtake Flocke's spirit inside his body. I hope the writers know how much we love Locke and that the show cannot end with Old Smokey still in good old John's body!
Next week's episode is called "The Last Recruit" and is rumored to be a multi-centric one. I know it'll be a good one because the story is finally back on track and moving along quickly. FYI, the creepy music in next week's promo is from the original Willy Wonka. (Thanks, Yesenia for figuring that out!) It's "The Wonderous Boat Ride." The song Willy Wonka sings when they are traveling through that freaky tunnel. I just re-watched the clip and there was an eye close-up and crazy brainwashing looking stuff. How very Lost!

LOST: Happily Ever After
OH MY GOD! Did I just figure Lost out? Did they just give us a huge chunk of what we need to know??!! We got Desmond, Charlie AND Daniel tonight all in one episode!! I am such a happy girl.
Desmond episodes always give us so much information. My brain is kind of on overload. So let me start at the beginning. Widmore has come to the island and brought Desmond so Des can be exposed to another electromagnetic event. Charles must have figured out that Des moves through time or consciousness whenever he's exposed to the island's huge pockets of electromagnetic activity. As Desmond gets blasted in the scary box, he moves to the sideways timeline.
In the sideways timeline, Desmond has just landed in LA. He meets Claire and predicts she will have a boy. Looks like some of Desmond's psychic ability is back. We find out he works for Widmore (who's office is now based in LA, not London and who's office artwork is balanced scales now and not the big scary polar bear piece) and he is picked up by George (who we first saw on the freighter in season 4). Desmond meets up with Charlie. YAY Charlie! I'm so glad we found out why Charlie was so mad when Jack saved his life. It's because he was seeing Claire in a vision/near death experience or whatever you want to call it. Several things Charlie told Desmond seemed to be really significant. He asked if Des had experienced "conscious-altering love." He also said he had seen the truth and that when he saw Claire it was as if they had always been and always will be. Desmond thinks "there's always a choice, brother" so he doesn't take Charlie seriously. Charlie has to show Desmond the truth, so Charlie drives the car in the water. This is when things start to get really good. I loved the moment when Desmond flashed and saw/remembered Charlie's hand with "Not Penny's boat" written on it. When Desmond is put in the MRI (more electromagnetism), he has more flashes of Penny. Love it!
In the hospital, Charlie runs away and yells that "None of this matters." This sideways timeline is just a means to an end. In this timeline, the Oceanic passengers have whatever it is they think they wanted. Ms.Hawking/now Mrs.Widmore tells Des that he has what he wanted, which is Widmore's approval. Yes, he has Widmore's approval and money and a good job, but at what cost? He doesn't have love and doesn't even yet realize what he is missing out on. Eloise seems to recognize Desmond when he introduced himself to her. Just like in the original island timeline, Eloise won't help Desmond get what he wants. She won't let him see the party guest list (yet another Lost list, like with the Others and Jacob) with Penny on it. She wants him to stop looking for whatever he's looking for. I think she's trying to stop Desmond this time because Daniel is alive in this timeline and she wants to keep it that way. If Des changes something she may lose her son once again.
Daniel Faraday/now Widmore manages to stop Desmond before he can leave. Just like in the island timeline, Daniel helps Des. I was so happy to have Daniel back. I love love love love him!! I think he is a flipping genius. He has realized that maybe this wasn't supposed to be their lives and that they did something to change it. "I think I already did" set off a nuclear bomb. He tells Des that Penny is his half-sister and where Des can find her. I love Daniel because he knows all and fixes all. He doesn't work against people like his crazy mom! Now Desmond and Penny can be reunited yet again!
Des finds Pen running at the stadium where he met Jack in "another life, brother." As soon as he touches her hand, he flashes back to the island. His "unique talent," as Widmore put it, is what is going to save them all. Des is ready to follow through with Widmore's plan now. Then Sayid comes along ninja style, kills some dude and tells Desmond to come with him. Is this part of Des and Charles' plan? To get Des over to Flocke's side so he can get his castaway friends back?
Desmond flashes back to sideways time and Penny seems to recognize him. They agree to meet for coffee (I bet it's the same coffee shop where he met Libby so long ago.) I totally teared up because I am such a sucker for Desmond and Penny. I love them so much! When Des gets back in the limo, he asks George to get him the manifest of all the Oceanic 815 passengers. Desmond "needs to show them something." Des is going to save the day!!
Lost is all about love. Darlton has said that the heart of the show has always been a love story. So here is Desmond's mission: he has to reunite every Oceanic 815 passenger with their constant in the sideways timeline. I bet this means Sawyer will end up with Juliet (because Jack will end up with Kate or Kate will die and Jack will be the new Jacob) and they'll go on their dutch coffee date. Gross. So the sideways timeline exists so Desmond can get everyone with who they are supposed to be with. It exists because they decided to detonate the nuclear bomb, but it didn't make things any better. It's just more things that needs to be corrected. Does Desmond have to get everyone off island to have a near death experience to make them see their loved one? Or does he just have to help them remember what happened when the plane crashed? When everyone gets with who they are supposed to be with will it just create a new timeline? Or will the timelines come together? Or will one of the timelines just cease to exist altogether? Will Des have to remind Team Flocke of who they are supposed to be with too? I love that Desmond will play a major factor in saving the day!!
I am so pumped the story is finally picking up. I cannot believe there are only 5 episodes and the series finale left. It makes me happy and sad at the same time. Next week is a Hurley episode. YAY! Although I don't know if anything can top the triple treat of Desmond, Daniel and Charlie!

LOST: The Package
Whew.. I really want this whole Lost story to go differently. I have no idea what this episode accomplished. I was happy that Desmond appeared. But come on, I realized he was behind that sub door two weeks ago when we first saw it. (Or I thought maybe it was Ji Yeon.) It always kills me when the "big reveal" of the episode is underwhelming. Oh and how annoying was the stupid V countdown on the bottom right hand side of the screen??! I don't watch V, ABC, so make it go away!
I am sick of the sideways timeline. I want it to be gone. Sun and Jin weren't married yet in this one and had to hide their love. It seems Sun's dad is a jerkface in either timeline. We found out how Jin got in Keamy's fridge and what happened after Sayid found Jin. The only cool part of this timeline was that good old Other one-eyed Mikhail appeared. It was pretty badass when Jin shot Mikhail in the eye. That's for killing Charlie, you bastard! My main problem with the sideways stories is that the stories are never completed in that given hour. This is frustrating because that means the story will have to be completed in another episode. In another episode that could be giving us answers to amazing island and original Lost questions. I want everything to be wrapped up in a big pretty bow and it just doesn't seem like that is going to happen. Cool question that Yesenia posed tonight - Could the sideways timeline have happened before the plane crashed? I don't have an explanation for how this would work, but it seems like a cool idea. After all, we did see Mikhail lose his eye..
Meanwhile back on the island, we still didn't get a Kwon reunion. There was some cool stuff happening over here though. I loved the moment when Jin saw the pics of Ji Yeon (this was also super nice of Widmore). I started crying like a baby. Now I'm afraid Jin is going to die before he can get back to Sun. It was super awesome to see Room 23 (where Alex, Sawyer and Kate rescued Karl in season 3) and the crazy brainwashing stuff. - "We are the causes of our own suffering." I have to say as a Lost fan I relate to this. I suffer from frustration because I cannot stop watching this show, which cause me immense aggravation, therefore causing my own suffering! AAH!! - It was good to have Richard back with a plan. Now that Flocke has gone to speak to Widmore, it seems the battle is about to begin. Widmore seems like he is a good guy, even though he had Jin kidnapped. He doesn't want MIB to get off the island. Guess he'll be working Alpert just like the good old days.
This episode echoed so many moments from past episodes. Sun in her garden again, Sun only being able to speak Korean but understanding English (like Jin in the early seasons), Sun having to write down things like Locke in season 3 when he couldn't talk after the hatch blew, Sayid leaving Jin to wiggle out of the tape like when Locke left Boone all tied up or anytime Kate has been stuck in some dang handcuffs, Jack promising another promise that he probably can't keep, Widmore demanded "the package" from the sub just like Ben demanding "the man from Tallahassee," the gang being attacked with darts and someone getting dragged off... How very Other.
I do have a love/hate relationship with Lost. I love that it always leaves me wanting more. I hate that it always leaves me wanting more. At least the show always gets a reaction out of me. Even when the show disappoints me, I anxiously await the following Tuesday because I continue to have hope in the show. Next week is a Desmond episode. My heart is singing because Des episodes are among my favorite. "Flashes Before Your Eyes" and "The Constant" are both filled with OMG moments. Here's hoping our last Desmond episode gives some big answers! Des and Penny can't disappoint!
